DESCRIPTION:
John Forrest, London high grade key wind key set swing out gilt movement with jeweled lever escapement, fusee, cut bimetallic balance wheel, finely foliate engraved and scrolled solid balance cock with ruby endstone and round turned plate pillars in very heavy 1815 London hallmarked 18K YG open face case with Roman numeral porcelain single sunk dial and gold hands, 47mm 110.3g TW c1815
CONDITION:
GRO (winds, sets and ticks), the movement is in good condition with some light residue and spotting in localized areas of the top plate, engraved "CHRONOMETER MAKER CLERKENWELL". The solid gold case is has several minor dents and some dings on the band, the rear cover and the cuvette. The dial has one hairline at 7 but is otherwise in good condition. The second hand may be a replacement and the gold minute hand needs to be straightened out slightly.
